Spread Coco's Spirit without Breaking the Bank
Yes, it is absolutely possible to look “Chanel” without being dressed head to toe by the luxury label and even more impressively without breaking the bank! All you need to do is keep it classic, elegant and comfy – just what Coco herself strived for! Of course, adding one or two authentic pieces makes it much easier to spread Chanel’s spirit but there are also other lovely, budget-saving alternatives out there.
You could either search vintage stores for original iconic items (e.g. a brooch, shoes or a bag) or try finding Chanel-inspired pieces such as chic two-toned shoes (I linked a pretty pair by Mango below) or a tweed jacket which is so typically Chanel (check Veronica Virta for quality pieces); or you could do it like I did: I treated myself to a well-deserved pair of new Chanel sling-backs for my Birthday …after all, special days should be celebrated appropriately, am I right!?
In case you choose to look for pre-owned accessories I’d recommend Vestiare Collective as they offer a guarantee of authenticity and do a quality check in advance.
Now let me tell you how I Chanel-ized my outfit without going completely broke. I kept it simple – the black cigarette pants by H&M and the elegant top by Veronica Virta are both timeless and affordable pieces. The bold pearl buttons along this lovely top’s collar and cuffs are so á la Chanel. My wool-trench-coat by Mango is just perfect, because it’s both modern and classic. Yet any other chic coat would do, too. To add the final touch I adorned it with my CC- Brooch, a Christmas gift by my husband…et le look Chanel, voilà!
Here are all the details of my OOTD and below you will find a bunch of beautiful budget pieces that are perfect to put together a CC-inspired look:
